THE BEST ELECTRIC VEHICLES. To drive 1 km on electric vehicle costs about 0,005-0,02€ for electricity + cost of batteries, which makes the biggest part of the price. Manufacturers like to hide the price and cycle life of batteries, in such way misleading people, how “cheap” is to drive electric vehicles. In some countries, to insure normal vehicle costs about 500€ per year, but for electric vehicles this price can be about 70€, you don't need to pay for parking and charge your vehicle for free - special charging points are installed. Before buying electric vehicle, check temperature range in which vehicle's batteries can work - you can have problems, if winters in your country are cold. Discharging battery at higher currents (driving faster or heavily loaded) reduces the total available power that can be got out of a battery. By discharging standard 240Ah capacity (at 20 hours rate) Lead-acid battery per 20 hours (12A per hour), you can get from battery 240Ah, but by trying to discharge battery quickly (240A per hour) you can get from battery only 98Ah.

Field testing began in China in May 2010 with 40 units operating as taxis in the city of Shenzhen. Sales to the general public began in Shenzhen on October 26, 2011, after over two years behind schedule (the original release date was in 2009). Since 2010 a total of 3,220 units have been sold in China through October 2013. It is reported the e6 is currently being used in Columbia and the U.K. as taxis. BYD planned to sell the e6 model in the US for US$35,000 before any government incentives. However, after re-scheduling the US launch several times, in October 2011 BYD announced that sales to retail customers were to be delayed at least for 18 months due to the lack of charging infrastructure.
